Why I Decided To Go Vegan

First, You need to know some facts about me.  I was raised on a small family dairy farm.  We always loved every single animal, and we took incredible care of them.  Every cow had its own special name, and family history.  It was about being around animals and enjoying them.

Sadly, except on an extremely rare occasion,
farming is not like that anymore.

Why would I kill an animal when it is unnecessary?

Why eat animal products when they are kept in terrible environments?

We have all the ability to live a full, happy life, without killing animals for food.  Yet we still do, we view it as completely normal to eat the flesh of animals, even though it is completely unnecessary.  I understand people taking longer to stop eating other animal products, I really do. But it is time to end the eating of animal flesh.  You would not eat human flesh, would you?  It just makes sense.

The end of eating animal flesh in western culture is long overdue.  I understand why, in a survival situation, you might stray towards eating animals, but it is simply unnecessary in this culture.
Open your eyes.

This is -
- More than just not eating animal products to be healthier.
- No longer supporting an industry that is ruining the lives of animals.
- Trying to support a cultural change.
- Understanding that just because we can not understand animals, does not mean that they do not have feelings, emotions, and thoughts.

Within the past month, I have really developed an understanding of how I want to live my life.  I no longer am going to just sit here and watch negative actions unfold upon the earth.  This is just one of the many steps I will start taking towards being a better person.

The end of eating animal flesh is not the only thing to be gained from going vegan.  There are also extreme health benefits, even helping prevent some forms of cancer.  In a culture full of health conscious people, it is surprising that more people are not following the vegan path.

I do not want to bash people still eating animal products, I am just wanting to help.  Stay tuned as I continue my  vegan journey.  I will be posting helpful tricks and tips as I come across them.
